NaMo-suit's total cost on nation , if one subtracts time consumed by controversy, is a huge negative. . The suit brought ill fame, NOT due to cost, but due to name printed on it. Finally, to control damage, auction was held and auction fetched Rs 5 crore to GoI treasury. But if suit had not created controversy, then money fetched in auction would have been only a few lakhs and no more. IOW, Rs 5 crore came mainly due to controversey the suit created ---- whether intentional or unintentional. . So if one subtracts the time-value of crores of citizens that the controversy that the name on the suit created, then total output of suit is negative. . IMO, neta-babu should keep one thing in mind --- the time of citizens that their deliberate or unplanned actions will consume. And that time has value. One can blame the time consumed on the people who paid attention , but then if attention had not come, then auction would NOT have fetched even 5% of what it fetched. . For private players , like actors, whatever time of audience they consume is all gains for them, and we dont expect them to worry about damage that loss of time can cause. And in return, we can always tell all to ignore those actors. But we cant and should never tell anyone to ignore neta-babu, even if we oppose them. So IMO , neta-babu should stay away from actions that consume away people time in attenstion seeking, sensation and controversy. . So all in all, if time-value of time consumed by controversy is subtracted, the suit is still a huge negative.
