Why is no plant mobile ? Why didnt / couldnt God or evolution create a mobile plant? And I think that the question has huge philosophical importance !!! . This question occured to me some 2-3 days ago , and I cant find any answer by net or otherwise. . Lets define plant as an organism which consumes more carbon dioxide than it emits and it emits more oxygen than it consumes. Animal is something that is opposite. . And we can also define plant as something that can convert sunlight into chemical (storable) energy, while animal is something opposite --- it cant use sunlight and it needs storable energy !! . Now let me come to THE QUESTION --- except small algea etc, ALL plants are stationary i.e. immobile. . Why is it so? . The question "why animals are never stationary" has simple answer. An animal needs chemical energy by eating plants and / or other animals and so if animal is immobile, then it will just die. . But I see no simple answer to "why no plant is mobile?" !! Is it that plant cant be mobile? That looks odd --- because mobility doesnt reduce ability to photosyntehise i.e. ability to convert sunlight into chemical energy or ability to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen? . Why could God despite all his might, could NOT create mobile plants? (I do believe in God 3 days a week, though today i.e. Friday isnt one of that day ). And why couldnt evoluntion create a plant that is mobile? .. And I suspect that the question has HUGE philosophical importance. , Anyway --- doesnt anyone know "why God or evolution didnt give birth to any mobile plant" , except some small algea? .
